I will be playing the Chargers -10. SD is 14-3 ATS against Oakland since 1992. They are 4-0 ATS vs Oakland the past 3 years. The Chargers have beaten the Raiders the past four times by 10 or more points. I know the public is pounding the Chargers but they are right 66.7% of the time the past three years when they move the line in Oakland games. I am going to lay the big pints and hope the Chargers can get me out of this funk I have been in.

I will b playing the Marlins -1.5 tonight. I like the Marlins tonight since they are throwing there ace tonight in Josh Jonhson. Throw in the fact that he is 5-0 against the Nats since 1997 and Fl is 6-0 at home against the Nats this year and I will take the gamble with the -1.5.

I will play the Under 44.5 in the Clemson G Tech game. Both times these two teams met the past two years they were low scoring games. I see the same from the two of them again. I will play the Under and try to get above .500.

I am going to play Texas Rangers on the ML in game one of the Double header. If they lose then I will be playing them on the ML in game two and I will double my bet then. I really can not see them getting swept by the Tribe in this double header. I like game one since Tommy Hunter is throwing and he had great success against the Tribe a few weeks back. Carlos Carrasco is throwing his second game for the Tribe and he is going to learn that the AL is a tough league to pitch in, ask John Smoltz and Brad Penny.

Well the Phil's did not get it done Sunday for me and it moves me to 17-18-1 since the blog started. I had nothing for Labor, I was hanging out with the family. I will be back later today hopefully with a solid baseball play.

Well I got to .500. I am now 17-17-1 since the blog has started. Not much going in the college games today so I will go back to baseball. I have a NL game that I just can't pass up.

I will be playing the Phillies -1.5. After losing the first two games of this series they send out Cole Hamels to the mound today to get them back to winning ways. Cole has looked real good his last two outings and I see that trend continuing today. I just can't see the NL East leaders losing three in a row to Houston. I will play the Phil's on the runline today.

Today I will take a stab at college football. I don't like betting this early in the season since yu have no feel on how teams look this year. Lets hope I can get to .500 with todays game.

I will play the Over 59 in the Rice UAB game. I see this being a high scoring game with both of these teams that can run up and down the field. Rice did not have a game go under 59 until wek 10 last year. Throw in that UAB returns there entire offense from last year they should be able to score on Rice.

I will play the Phil's and Astros zero runs in the first inning. Cliff Lee is just a dominating pitcher and Wandy Rodriguez at home is as good as you can get. I will take my chances and say that these teams do not score in the first inning.

I am going to play NC State -5 over South Carolina. I like NC State to get revenge here on this South Carolina team that beat them down bad last year in SC. NC St has 8 starters back on Offense including QB Russell Wilson who looked real good last year throwing 17 tds and 1 int.
They also welocme back 7 on the defensive side of the ball, including 5 of there front 7. Thursday night in Raleigh on National TV against a team that they want revenge on. I like NC State to take care of business here.

I will play the Chicago Cubs over the Astros on the ML...Randy Wells has pitched outstanding in his two contest against the Astros this year. He has pitched 14 innings and not given up a run yet to them and both those games were at home just like todays game is. Houston did take one from Chicago last night in front of the Cubs fans. I can see the Cubs coming out and getting that one back tonight.

I am going to play the Dodgers ML over the Reds today. Homer Bailey is nothing to write home about. He faced the Dodgers back in July and he got knocked around all over the place. He gave up 6 earned in 2 innings pitched. He is not the best pitcher at home either since he does have a 1-2 mark with a 7.13 ERA. His counter part tonight is Chad Billingsly who is 3-1 with a 1.48 ERA vs the Reds since 1997. He has won his last three start vs the Reds including the game on 7/22/09 in which he gave up 2 earned runs in 6 innings. I Like the dodgers to take care of bsuienss today against this weak Reds team...

Ok...I am going to add one more game today. I really like this one and that is Zero runs scored in the first inning of the Houston and Cardinals game. Both of these pitchers have had great success against the opposites team. I really can not see either of these guys letting up a run in the first few innings. Hopefully I can get a sweep today and get me above .500.

I will be playing the Phillies ML again. J A Happ has been just as hot as CLiff Lee is. The Pirates have to face another lefty who they struggle to score runs on. They are only averaging 3.5 runs per game against lefties. Happ comes into this game 2-0 and a 1.74 ERA in his last three games. Charlie Morton on the other hand comes in at 1-2 with a 9.49 ERA in his last three games. Happ faced the pirates back in July and held them to 4 hits and 1 run over 7 innings. The last time Morton faced the Phil's he was out in 2 innings giving up 8 hits and 5 runs. I can not see the Phillies losing this series. I will play the Phil's again to try and get me to .500.

I am going to play the Phil's on the ML...They lost last night in dramatic fashion to the Pirates and I don't see that happening again. I think Cole comes out tonight and gets out of his little slump that he is in. The Pirates are only averaging 3.6 runs per game against lefties. The Phils on the other hand are averaging 5.6 runs per game against lefties. I see the Phil's taking this one to even this series up with the Pirates.

Today we will play the St Louis Cardinals -1.5 over the Houston Astros. Lets look here at this game. Wandy Rodriguez is only 5-5 on the road this year and he has a 4.21 ERA on the road. He is a total different pitcher then he is at home. The Cardinals counter with Adam Wainwright today and he has a 2.02 ERA at home this year , in his last 3 starts he is 2-0 with a 1.31 ERA. The Cards are 5-1 against Houston this year in St louis and Wainwright is 6-1 against Houston since 1997. I am liking Houston to get a beat down by a Cards team that has just been on fire since Matt Holliday has come to this team.

I will play the Phils -1.5 today...This Phils team is just playing great baseball and Cliff Lee has been amazing since he has come to the NL. I will ride the him again and hope to get me back to winning ways. Oh yeah the Mets are only averaging 3.7 runs per game against Lefties and now they Face Lee.....I am not liking the Mets Chances today.

I will play the Under 10.5 in the Red Sox Yanks game.

I am liking the Under 10.5 in the Red Sox Yanks game...They have only gone over that total 3 times out of the 12 games that they have played against each other this year. Also Andy pettite has not had a total go over 10.5 in the last 6 games he pitched in. Brad Penny has not been the most solid pitcher as of late but he does have good numbers against the Yanks. Throw in that the Yanks traveled across the country from Oakland to Boston yesterday they might be a little tired for this first game. The Under is 5-1-1 in there last 7 meetings and 6-1-in there last 8 meetings in Boston. Penny has had 5 days of rest also and the Under is 5-1 in his last 6 starts when he has had 5 days rest. I have a lean right now on this Under. I just think this total is posted to high for this game

I am going to play the Tigers ML against the Mariners today. This play is mainly a payback play from last night. The Tigers lost with there ace on the Mound and I see them coming out and doing some damage tonight. Seattle does not hit lefties very well and Detroit will throw Jarod Washburn today. I will play the Phillies ML today.....Cliff Lee has just been outstanding since joining the Phils. It is hard not to back this Phillies team right now since they have won 6 out of there last 7. Lee is 3-0 since coming to the NL. 1.12 ERA and a 0.917 Whip....He has thrown 7, 8 and 9 inning games so far since his trade....He is reminding me of C.C last year when he was traded to Milwaukee. Dan Haren is a good pitcher but he probably won't get much run support today since the D Back struggle against lefties only averaging 3.8 runs per game and they have to face one of the toughest lefties in the league tonight. Haren is hittable also since the Phils did beat him a few weeks ago in Arizona. Arizona has lost 3 in a row now after last nights lose to this Phils team. Throw in that the Phils are 8-1 against teams with a losing record in the second half and Arizona is only 12-23 against Lefties this year...I will lay the Chalk and play the Phillies....

I will play one more game today. I really like this NL Matchup.....I like the SF Giants RL -1.5... A few weeks ago Homer Baily and Tim Linceum faced off and Linceum was the better pitcher but his bullpen blew it for him. I see him going farther in the game today since Baily has looked horrible his last three outings. He has a 9.53 ERA his last 3 and a Whip of 1.942 as to Linceum who has a 1.52 ERA and a Whip of .845 his last three. Got to play the Giants in this one.

I will be playing the Yankees -1.5... The yanks have C.C. going for them tonight and he is 2-0 against the A's this year also he is 3-0 in his last three starts. The two wins he has against Oakland this year he has won by 2 or more runs. His numbers the last three have been solid with a 2.38 ERA and a .838 Whip...On the other Side Mazzaro is throwing for the A'S and he is 0-1 against the Yanks this year. He has a 7.05 ERA his last 3 with a Whip of 2.218....The Yanks usually respond pretty good after they are shutout they are 2-1 and have scored 5 or more runs in all three of those games.....I will play the Yanks to beat up on the A's in this game and get a payback from being shut out last night.

I will play the Whitesox -1.5 today against the Royals. Mark Buehrle is 3-0 vs KC this year winning all the games by 2 or more runs. He is also 20-8 in his carer vs the Royals. This is the perfect matchup for Buehrle to get back to his winning ways.

We are going to ride the hot team today and take the Yankees ML over the Mariners. The Yanks look like they are just too tough to beat right now. Chamberlain is not a bad pitcher and Seattle is throwing Fister who has never seen a lineup like this before. It is going to be a rough day for Fister and the Yanks should keep there winning ways going. Its hard not to back a team that has won 12 out of there last 13 and are showing everyone that they are the real deal in the AL East.

We are going to Play two different games today. I will be playing the Colorado Rockies ML on the first 5 innings. Colorado needs to be winning after 5 full innings to win this bet. I will also take The Twins -1.5. Don't have much time for a write up today but I like that Colorado has a First time pitcher going tonight. Usually teams struggle against guys they have not seen before. I like the Twins to Just beat up on the pathetic Royals. Lets hope we can get two wins tonight to start a good week.

Today we will take the Cubs on the Money line. The Cubbies send Rich Harden to the hill who has had alot of success against the Reds. He is 4-0 with a 2.59 ERA against the Reds. What also motivates me on this one is that the Reds are just the worst team in Baseball right now and I have to go against them. Lets hope the Cubs can end my losing streak.

Today we will play the Detroit Tigers -1.5. Lets look at this one. The Orioles are 0-4 this year as a dog of +225 to +250. They are actually 0-12 over the last 3 years in that spot. Verlander is 4-0 with a 1.85 ERA in his career against Baltimore. He has also been pitching really well lately going 2-1 with a 1.96 ERA. To top it off he is 7-0 at home this year with a 1.15 ERA. I really like the Tigers to take this one with Ease tonight.

Lets jump on the Phil RL today. The Phils hit lefties very well. They will want to get the bats going today since there was not much offense yesterday from them. Cole Hamels is 3-0 against SF and his team is 4-0 when he starts against the Giants. Throw in the fact that Cole has been pitching really well as of late and we will take a shot with the Phils today.

We will Take the Yanks on the ML today. The Yanks sned AJ Burnett to the hill today and he has has looked good his last few starts. He is 2-0 with a 2.25 ERA his last three games. The White Sox send Lefty John Danks to the hill who should get beat up by the Yanks bats. The yanks are averaging 5.7 runs per game against lefties and averaging 6.6 runs per game on the road against lefties. Lets jump on the Yanks while the line is still low. I can't see them losing three in a row to the White Sox.

Play the Cubs on the ML.

The Cubbies have been playing real solid baseball. Rich Harden is throwing for them tonight and he has lookeed great as of late. His last 3 games he has pitched 19 innings and has only given up 2 earned runs. He has an ERA of only 0.95 in those three games. Throw in the fact that he is 4-1 with a 2.03 ERA on the road this year and we have a great pitcher to back tonight. As for the Cubs hitting we are getting a team that is cracking the ball as of late. Over the last 10 games they are averaging 5.8 runs against right handed pitchers and hitting .272. They have a slugging percentage of .494 the last 10 games. We are getting a good price on the Cubs tonight.

We will take the Brewers -1.5

The Brew crew shold beat up on the Nats today. JD Martins two starts this year he got hit pretty hard. Gave up 10 hits and 5 earned runs in 6 innings pitched. Both of those came at home now he has to experience his first road game against a Brewers team that averages 4.5 runs against right handed starters. We will take the brew crew to get us back to our winning ways.

July 29, 2009 Part 2

We are going to take the Phils -1.5

The Phils have been beating up on everybody here in the second half of the season. They are starting to show that last year was not a fluke. J A Happ has been solid this year. He has pitched 41.3 innings on the road and has only given up 8 earned runs. This doesn't look good for the D Backs who have problems hitting Lefties. On the other side we see Yusemeiro Peitt who is getting kncoked around at home this year. He has pitched 27.3 innings and has given up 25 earned runs. The Phils are on fire and look to keep this rolling. I will jump on the Phils to bring us a victory today.

I am a little disappointed that the Angels give up two runs in the top of the 9th and we get the loss on the RL play. So we move on and look at some games for tonight. We are going to stay in the AL and play the Toronto and Seattle game.

We will play the Toronto Money Line -170. I know that it is a little high but we just don't want to fall into that problem like last night.

Halladay has been real solid this year and his last three outings have been solid. He has Pitched 25 innings and has given up only 5 earned runs in those last 3. Seattle has had problems hitting Halladay in the past. He has shut them out the last two times he faced them. Toronto is also averaging almost 5 runs a game against Lefties. I will make the play on Toronto to get this win.

We come through with the Cubs RL on Sunday so we took the day off on Monday since I had to go play a beer league softball game and had no time to check any games out. Tonight we are going to look at the AL Matchup of the Indians and the Angels.

We will take the Angels -1.5.

I look at this matchup and see that David Huff has pitched 7 road games this year and has given up 31 runs in 36.7 innings pitched on the road. His last three starts he has given up 14 runs in 17 innnings pitched. The Angels should eat this guy up tonight. On the other side Jered Weaver is a solid 7-1 at home this year with a 2.51 ERA at home. I know he has had three so so outings his last three but the Angels did win all three of those games. Lets throw in that the Indians did steal one last night on the Angels home field so I see the Angels rebounding tonight.

Well w got the push in the Phils game on friday night. There was no play yesterday since my son had his first birthday. Today we will go try and get a win with the this NL Matchup.

We will take the Cubs -1.5 against the Reds. Micah Owings has been horrible his last three starts out and Harden has been real solid. Throw in the fact that the Cubs have dominated the Reds when Harden pitches and we will take the risk and lay the -1.5 today.

Pittsburgh played a tough game yesterday in Pittsburgh against the Brewers in which they ended up winning and then had to travel to Arizona overnight to be ready to play again today. Dan Haren has had nice success against the Pirates in which he is 3-0 and his teams record is 4-1. Dan Haren has ben solid as of late. His last 3 games he is 3-0 with an ERA of 0.78 and has pitched 23 inning and only giving up 2 Earned Runs. I like Arizona to take care of business today.
